A local ranks top places to get pizza in Pigeon Forge, the Smoky Mountains
Pizza is always a solid go-to option when visiting the Smoky Mountains. But when it comes to the best pizza, that's going to require a deeper dive. There are certainly a lot of options to choose from in Pigeon Forge. With that in mind, I took up the selfless burden of taste-testing dozens of pizzas in Pigeon Forge, narrowing down my favorites, and ranking them for your pleasure.

1. PizzaRio Wine + Bar
If you want an upscale pizza experience, look no further than PizzaRio. PizzaRio offers a 5-course dining experience with soup, meatballs, wings and dessert pizzas. The main course is a rotating selection of delicious pizzas served rodizio style, which means they are brought directly to your table and you can enjoy all you can eat. This is more than just pizza. It's a whole experience, complete with cocktails and a signature wine list. It was hard to pick a favorite pizza from PizzaRio, but the Quatro Queijos with four types of cheeses is definitely one to prioritize. But luckily, you won't have to choose. Reservations are available online via Resy. PizzaRio is located at 140 Showplace Blvd. in Pigeon Forge.
2. Smoky Mountain Brewery
You may not immediately think of seeking out a brewery for the best pizza in town, but the Smoky Mountian Brewery knows how to serve up a really solid pizza. Plus, nothing pairs better with pizza than an ice-cold beer. Bonus Tip: The Smoky Mountain Brewery is one of only a handful of area restaurants that are open late (normally until midnight). For you night owls out there, this is likely going to be your best option. The Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge is located at the Shops at Lumberjack Feud at 2530 Parkway.
3. J. Del's Pizza
I love New York-style pizza, and this place is second to none. Family-owned and operated, J. Del's is the real deal, and it's one of the few places you can still walk in and watch your pizza being hand-tossed and spun around in the air before your very eyes. Popular menu items include the Meat Lovers pizza, calzones and garlic knots. Personally, I'm a fan of the subs. But like most pizza places in the area, they can also create almost any custom pie your pizza-lovin' New Englander heart desires. J. Del's is located at 2664 Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge.
4. Big Daddy’s Pizzeria
Big Daddy's is part of the locally owned Johnson Family of Restaurants. Big Daddy's is known for its brick oven, wood-fired pizza and also its fresh ingredients. Local fan-favorite menu options include the Big Kahuna and the Taco Pie. Child-sized pizzas are also available. Big Daddy's in Pigeon Forge is located at 3053 Parkway with locations available in Sevierville and Gatlinburg as well. The Pigeon Forge location has an arcade, which may be a good option when you have younger kids.
5. Bellacino’s Pizza and Grinders
A small chain, Bellacino’s has one restaurant in East Tennessee, and it is located (technically) in Sevierville, but it's close enough to count. I’m a fan of Bellacino’s Pride, which basically takes the seven best toppings known to man and puts it on a pizza. But you can’t go wrong with the supreme or the meat-eater. Bellacino's is located at 716 Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville.
6. Mellow Mushroom
I know, the Mellow Mushroom is another chain. But Mellow Mushroom is just an easy, classic, tried and true go-to. Their hippy food menu includes stone-baked pizzas, dairy-free cheese, gluten-free crusts and the largest list of ingredients for customizations that you'll ever see, which is what I love most about it. Are you vegetarian? Or lactose intolerant? Guess what, Mellow Mushroom has a pizza for you. Mellow Mushroom has two locations in Pigeon Forge. One is located at The Island and the other is located on the Parkway.
